Exercise make an interface
Together with Nikol Petkova we made as interface a poem machine.
• Which ‘context’ and which ‘user(s)’ is your are on either side of your ‘interface’?
Context: To make a collective poem
User: Students of WdKA who are intrested in poems or are writers theirselfs.
• what is your ‘interface’ doing?
Inviting students to make a collective poem together
• what do you want the user to do?
We want to invite them to create a poem together.
• How does your interface achieve this?
Through placing a typewriter in an public place, we try to get the attention of
people who are interested in writing. The text then invites them to join the collective poem.

I was following this class from home, because I had the flue.

In this class we went through new examples of what interfaces could be.

Gabrielle gave us some nice designer examples of interfaces. Especially "Below the Surface" I thought was amazing. I like how the website makes the content so attractive and accescable for younger people.

You can zoom in to close detail. You can scroll through the timeline to see what has been found. And you can make your own collection of founded items.
Really nice example of subcultures. Maybe a nice idea to display the
allergic people also like this? Research if there is a visual similarity between them.

In todays class we looked at our found examples of the interfaces in groups of 4 together with Gabrielle.

Gabrielle suggested maybe documenting the interfaces with symbols or categorize them by colors. I thought this was inspiring to do and also to apply on our research of our user group and content.

For more details of the 90 interfaces you can click the link at the beginning of this page.
Gabrielle also brought three books with her for inspiration. Especially the book of trees and the book of circles was amazing to see. On the pictures you can see images that inspired me.

This image reminds me of bacteria and virus particles. Particles that cause allergies. Maybe I can visualize my research of the content and users in this way? <<

In the books Gabrielle brought I saw her own designed stamp, a "Exlibris". Used to mark that this book is part of your collection. Maybe its a plusweek idea to make one of my own.
